Track Review: Tom Fall & Ben Nicky Nail it with “Hammer”
In the world of trance today, there has been a push towards a blend of progressive house, electro, acid, and trance. Tom Fall and Ben Nicky are on the forefront of this movement. Their new release, “Hammer” sure is an example of this blending of styles; with acid stabs, pounding house kicks, a progressive melody, and a drop that is something to behold.
Tom Fall is a DJ/producer hailing from Finland, who’s currently working on his debut album. Ben Nicky is one of the UK’s fastest rising names that has many diverse productions. Their collaboration is a dream for fans of progressive, house, and trance. Fall is on the verge of his big breakthrough, and the 27-year-old is hard at work. Since his days of teaching himself on the Modplug Tracker at age 16, Fall has become one of EDM’s most highly-requested re-mixers and producers. He has reworked tunes, such as tyDi & Sarah Howell’s “Acting Crazy” into monstrous hits. Recently, Fall received a coveted spot on Armin van Buuren’s “A State of Trance 550” event at Ministry of Sound in London. His set showcased his ability to seamlessly mesh a variety of EDM subgenres, much like his new release. Fall’s collaboration with Ben Nicky, “Hammer” is destined to climb the charts.
