Remembered as the opening track Tiesto played on his first Tiesto In Concert in 2003, “Who Is The Starter” made waves in dance music and was easily one of the biggest songs in 2003. Ernesto vs Bastian reworked this song in 2012 style, using their unique sounds to refresh the song for the contemporary dance floor while keeping the main elements of the song intact.

The energy of the track builds throughout the first half of the track through booming drums and ethereal synths, before harder elements get brought in during an epic breakdown. The track packs pure energy and has received airtime on Markus Schulz’s radio show as well as the ASOT Global Gathering. Between this track and “Just In Bibber” (another excellent track Ernesto vs Bastian worked on; check out the review here), I think the future is looking bright for this trance duo. “Who’s the Starter 2012” is the third release on Bastian’s label Audentity Recording and is out on Beatport as of yesterday, along with several other remixes from: Paul Trainer, Davey Asprey, Raneem, and Jonas Stenberg.
