Track Review: Cubic Zirconia – Darko (Tommy Trash Remix)

2012 has been a busy year for Tommy Trash, producing mixes for everyone from Nadia Ali and Chris Lake to Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia. He puts a dirty twist on progressive and electro house and absolutely rocks out when performing live. A true devotee when it comes to EDM. Even Kaskade shows him love, taking Trash’s mix of Aoki’s Ladi Dadi and smashing it with Be Still (Awesome by the way. I’m completely convinced anything Kaskade touches turns to gold).

Here, Trash gives the proper remix treatment to Cubic Zirconia’s Darko. Now I’m not the biggest fan of the vocal track on this mix, or in the original for that matter all that much. It takes away from the absolutely sick electro house dirtiness. The original is a pretty weak track to begin with, but Trash certainly knows how to amplify a song. Out now on Beatport throught Fool’s Gold Records and this mix is worth the listen. What are your thoughts?
