John Askew – Drive the Room (Free Download)

A man who sticks to his roots, John Askew has recently released “Drive the Room” for free via his Facebook. The high-BPM trancer is filled with power and force. John Askew calls the track, “[A] dig at every mother fucker caught in the rat race.” The certainly strongly opinionated Askew, does always back up his smack talk. “Drive the Room” is a floor-filler with a strong pulsing lead, dark vibes and an eerie trickling melody. A banger of a tune that will certainly make one lose control.

Midlands based Genix has been a rising star in the Anjunabeats family. With collaborations “Helion” and “Dyno” alongside Mike Koglin, Genix’s solo outings have proven to be just as poignant. Aura features a cavernous bassline that stabs at the line between progressive and euphoric trance. Classic traditions lie within and yet subtle intricacies of house-y grooves rework the word “trance.” Genix’s “Nytra,” features a strong lead with perky reverb on the melody. A track filled with wavering synths and interesting styles, the mix is a sublime take on the scene of today. Label head’s Above and Beyond have been incorporating these two darlings in their sets as of late – find out why.

Fast Distance returns with his original sound that found him fame; “Alpine” is a beautiful uplifter that is just as warm as the summer day and the just as starry as the night. The new Digital Society Recordings record, “Alpine,” soars with a brightly layered percussion section and a soft melody that is highlighted by the Karanda Remix. Chosen as the intro track for Enhanced Music’s Digitally Enhanced Volume 5, Karanda’s intro mix, is a perfect set opener and wonderful addition to any catalog. A wicked spin a hit track, Karanda’s remix duties have been just as plentiful as they are vibrant. Paul Pearson finishes off the package with a tribute to all that is trance nowadays with a proper breakdown and steady incorporation of melodic and progressive elements.

Ignas and Julie Thompson’s Enhanced Music debut, “Hold On” is a deep and progressive track with well crafted percussion elements that meld into a tightly mixed and airy vocalized composition. Maor Levi’s remix celebrates his ability to craft a club mix with his evocative twist on melody’s and emotive energy of his breakdowns. Kaspar Kondrat manages to add a classic touch to the vocal processing and a superlative layered lead that soars above the bassline groove. Jovani goes deep but manages to keep in tact the vibe, thrust and combine it with an after-hours lounge vibe and yet a tune prepped for euphoria.
