The Unexpected New York EDM Show: Fuerza Bruta

Talking about Fuerza Bruta is something I can do with great pleasure. My experience watching this show was a fantastic one. To describe it as a “show” may be a misinterpretation. It wasn’t a scripted play, in fact it was silent; besides the occasional yelling from the performers. It was somewhat of a musical due to the lively DJ that completely captivated me. The music took over the show. At times I was dancing and throwing my hands in the air forgetting I was not at a nightclub. The performers take over and dance together in unison. One member of the audience was luckily taken on the stage to dance with them, but I wasn’t too jealous because the entire audience was a part of the show from start to end. If you go as a group make sure to hold hands or you will get split up when the room is divided and being closed up by a huge curtain that plays as aluminum foil, or even when everyone has to move to the right or left around the stage. And most of all, prepare to get wet! We were all happy to be dancing under the sprays of water coming from multiple directions.
Towards the end of the show you can find yourself staring nowhere but up. I can childishly say I was looking at mermaids. A plastic, see through stage was put above us and had water poured all over it. These four beautiful girls splashed and slid through the water while looking down at me. All while the stage was also being lowered to the point where I could put my hand against one of the “mermaids” and have only the plastic diving us. The show finishes with more water and dancing along with smiles and cheers. Fuerza Bruta was a very pleasurable experience, one I plan to do again. I highly recommend everyone to go and grab a soundtrack on the way out!
