Preview: Sander Kleinenberg Makes an Epic Return to Cielo NYC – April 26th, 2012
Dutch native Sander Kleinenberg, founder of Little Mountain Recordings and THIS IS Recordings is an EDM icon who has held a well deserved spot in the TOP 100 DJ List since the 90’s. He has come a long way since his first production in 1993 “Bombay” (Wonka Beats Label) under the name ‘Free Frogs’ which was a collaborative group with friends. What defined him as an individual EDM artist in the 90’s was his first chart topper “You Do Me Wrong” on the Deal Records Label (1996) which paved the way for progressive house music. Sander gave us lifetime memorable tracks like “This is Miami”, “The Fruit”, and “Lexicon” which makes his presence anticipated and necessitate. We can’t help but sit on the edge of our seats waiting for his epic return to Cielo NYC this Thursday April 26th, 2012.
The opening Set will be provided NYC local talent to watch Joseph Indelicato who has been sweeping New York City Dancefloors for some time now. I expect that he will get the crowd motivated and energized with heart-pounding sounds perfect to set the way for Sander Kleinenberg to hit the decks.
Spinning vinyl since the late 80’s with influences by Shep Pettione, Depeche Mode, and Matronix, and now a master of his industry being reputably known on the Global Underground and Little Mountain Record Labels, Sander Kleinenberg always delivers a dynamic performance that sends his fans on a symphonious journey full of wonder and surprise. Honorary in itself that he can own up to iconic tracks like “Lexicon”, “Sacred” and award winning remix to Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body”, Sander’s sets are always enthralling and infused with electro-progressive and tech-house sounds mixing in several techy, tweaky surprises that aimlessly retain our attention all through the night / morning. Sander is acclaimed for creating different atmospheres amongst diverse crowds and venues around the globe, always delivering a set that is different and more unique than the last. Sander reminded the industry that music should be fun and not so commercial by introducing his “Everybody” brand in 2003 with chart topping album ‘Renaissance: Everybody’. He brought progressive house back to a dirty disco, Detroit techno sound. Kleinenberg described the concept of “Everybody” as “a reaction to how dance music began to take itself too seriously and how it should just be FUN”. He kept us moving with ‘This is Everybody Too’ which developed into the ‘This Is’ brand holding residencies around the world in super-clubs such as Crobar, Discoteque, Paradiso, Pacha, and Avalon. We all know ‘This Is Miami’ and the ‘This is Sensation’ events…and his loyal following has been growing ever since.
Coproducing with Josh Gabriel, Sander Kleinenberg gave us his powerhouse debut album ‘5K’ in 2010 assuring us that he is a staple in the dance community and one of the most successful DJ’s to date. I know I still rock out to tracks like “Remember When” and “T.I.O.N.”. He hasn’t stopped touring since the 90’s and he hasn’t stopped delivering musically enrapturing material to his solid following of fans. He is no stranger to the New York City Underground and his return has been long awaited. Thursday April 26th, 2012 will be a ‘This Is” night for the record books. I expect the walls of Cielo to be shaking and the crowd to be bold, vibrant and beautiful as we dance to the intertwining, spiraling symphonies of Mr. Sander Kleinenberg himself.
