Review: Nicole Moudaber with Gary Beck & The Beat Bros. at Cielo NYC – 6/7/12

Dance.Here.Now. Thursdays continued this past Thursday June 7th, 2012 by returning to us our favorite sexy techno queen, Ms. Nicole Moudaber who played alongside the anomalous Gary Beck. Opening set was provided by Brooklyn’s own incredibly animated The Beat Bros. who opened up the night with a lot of high power electro-synthesized house music. The dancefloor of Cielo began filling rather quickly as The Beat Bros. got the crowd “Fired Up” (literally) delivering an extrinsic, unheard of progressive-tech take on the Hush classic “Fired Up”. The Beat Bros. kept the vitality of the crowd rising with a lot of electrifying house tracks full of integral, energizing tempos and melodies.

Shortly after midnight the speakers of Cielo NYC began to sound like tech-house dynamite as the inventively accoladed EDM genius that is Gary Beck hit the decks. We have been “consumed” with Gary Beck since the techno guru Richie Hawtin signed Gary to the Minus Label in 2009. His sound ruptures with distinctiveness, disposition and spontaneity- Gary Beck music is one of a kind which has helped him gained high momentum in such short time in the EDM industry. Gary Beck is known to raise the bar for experimental electronic dance music and he does just that with high-energy, captivating symphonies of integrated multi-level tech-house tunes. He allures a crowd, like the party-goers at Cielo last Thursday night, with killers tracks such as “Funkytown City”, and “Vaag (Gary Beck’s Deranged Version)” which blew me away. My eardrums also caught “Sinister” and “Egoist” pulsating through Cielo’s sound system.. Nic Fanciulli was in the building to show support before his appearance at Dekalb Market on Friday June 8th. With Nic’s presence in the DJ booth it was only fitting that Gary Beck hit us hard with the effervescently catchy collaboration tune between the two “Hear Me Out” which has been climbing the Beatport charts, as well as a spot on my iPod. Gary Beck gave an incredible performance at Cielo NYC this past Thursday and I look forward to hearing his fine crescendos of sound again soon.

As the wee early hours of Friday morning came around the Queen of intrinsic, quirky Techno hit the decks at Cielo NYC and she set our souls on FIRE! Nicole Moudaber is no stranger to the good vibrations of Cielo NYC, she is practically family to the Dance.Here.Now. team so when she visits its “no holds barred”. She reached into our minds with her “sleazy, sexy” tech-house symphs complete with sultry confound, intricately composed builds ‘habberdashed’ with Latin-house meets dark, dubious drumcode. She always delivers many ID tracks when I catch her live that send me on musical scavenger hunt which I love, but I most certainly danced to the incredible melodies ofThe Journey Begins”, “Betrayal (Nicole Moudaber Remix)”, and “Front Pocket”. Nicole Moudaber always performs with such ease and sass, delivering to her fans exactly what they came for.. a long night of nonstop dancing to deviously deep, alluring techno that drives into your veins. She shows love to her fans whether in an intimate setting like Cielo NYC, or a large festival such as Electric Daisy Carnival or the Feast of Rio that she performed at this past weekend in New Jersey. Nicole Moudaber delivers one incredible track after the other, each sound bar stronger than the last keeping your ears and feet at attention for hours. We kept hoping and praying that Benny Soto and his team would allow Nicole to play past four, so we didn’t pour out of Cielo NYC until around 5 a.m. Nicole Moudaber’s performance this past Thursday June 7th, 2012 was full of animation and vigor which is why her fans have kept coming back for more since her name was first introduced to dance music just a few years ago. She is a master of her craft, amongst the best artists in this industry and she is a techno force to be reckoned with. If you did not get enough of Nicole Moudaber this past weekend be sure to check her out this Friday June 15th at Palacio Europa in Newark, NJ playing alongside Jason Justiano and Greg Lops. Buy Tickets By Clicking Here.
