Preview: Size Records Takes Over NYC’s Central Park on September 22, 2012
Once again, Pacha NYC did not disappoint to reveal an event teaser; followed by clues to keep us guessing what upcoming events they had in store for us. For the past few days Pacha has been flooding twitter a hashtag, including the date, September 22 and location NYC. At first, no one knew what Pacha had up their sleeve, until clues via an Instagram account created for the unknown, but anxiously anticipated event. The account uploaded pictures of various well known New York City attractions, eventually followed by a taxi, metro card and even a hot dog stand, gratified with “Size” markings.
Nonetheless, hours later, the legendary Steve Angello, father of Size Records, utilized #September22nyc hashtag, confirming our beliefs and allowing us to get excited for the upcoming festivities. Not only is the legendary man himself hosting the event, but he’s also bringing along members of his Size Matter crew, which includes An21 & Max Vangeli, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Third Party for their first NYC Debut. Hold on while I pinch myself, to make sure this is actually going to go down next month. Can you say epic?! Lets go through a couple of tracks you should expect from each artist at this upcoming SIZEable event.
AN21 & Max Vangeli
This duo, compiled of Angello’s younger brother and Eastern Europe born producer, AN21 and Max Vangeli have proved they do not need to use Big Brother Steve as a crutch to make it in the EDM world and can stand on their own based on their production ability. Their upcoming album, “People of the Night,” set to release on September 3rd, will include album titled massive track, “People Of the Night,” featuring Tiesto, a paradoxically heavy based melody combined with enticing vocals by Kate Elsworth.
Also, keep your ears open for their recently featured single “Bombs Over Capitals,” by Mr. Pete Tong himself, which begins with powerful vocals from Julie McKnight, continuing with progressive chords leading to a massive drop, which we are only provided a snippet of. Keep your eyes out for this one, as it seems it will be a major hit when fully dropped live.
Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano are a one-of-a-kind duo who specialize in their own sound; progressive and tech house based, infused with captivating tribal beats. Their production and remixes are so unique that they are incomparable to any other artists. Proving time after time again to be successful in amping up a crowed at the beginning of a set, James and Marciano typically open with Joe Brunning’s, “Now Let me See you Work,” which begins with a ten-second countdown. Having experience this at Electric Daisy Carnival NYC, it is a great icebreaker for their captivating set to come.
Be prepared to also hear Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano’s re-make of Tiesto’s legendary trance hit, “Lethal Industry,” which they have added their unique spin to, transforming it into a big room house/festival favorite.
Third Party

This London born duo, Third Party is finally making their long-awaited NYC debut!!!! (At least I’ve been waiting for them). Their euphoric, single, “Feel,” accompanied by gentle, emotional vocals by Cicada, creates a feeling of ease, with synths that assemble to make this melody simply beautiful.
Also, be on the look out for Third Party’s new single, “Thank You,” featuring vocals by Loleatta Holloway, their new anthem that has been destroying festivals all summer.
Steve Angello
The Godfather of EDM (my biased opinion), Steve Angello is by far one of the most legendary, innovative, and meticulous producers in the EDM community. Simultaneously balancing a record label, a Swedish based mafia, a solo career, a supermodel girlfriend and not one, but two beautiful daughters; Angello has never failed to produce and produce, hit after hit after hit, time after time after time again. How he does it? He thrives on his passion of making music and the love he has for his fans. Oh and he never sleeps. Although, with talent and recognition, there will always be the jealous, envious haters trying to bring you down, every step of the way. Which is why you should be prepared to hear Steve Angello’s song, “H8ERS,” featuring An21 & Max Vangeli in NYC, a aggressive progressive track, with interludes of dubstep beats, containing only two lyrics which do the song complete justice, “F****** H8RS.” Is this a Sneaky, personal dig at a DJ who wouldn’t keep his negativity to himself via twitter? Who knows, but one thing remains, this track is dirty and will blow our minds away on September 22 in NYC.
With this stacked lineup including AN21 & Max Vangeli, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Third Party and the one & only Steve Angello, Central Park takeover will be the biggest event to end off an amazing summer. Always remember kids, whoever told you Size doesn’t Matter is obviously not packing much down under…..
