Avicii Featuring Mike Posner – Stay With You (Original Mix)
Being on the receiving end of literally ever joke in the EDM community (courtesy of Levels) can’t be easy, but Avicii continues to power through it on his carefully calculated path towards mainstream super-stardom. With a slew of releases and upcoming historic shows, which include the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City; Avicii is the world’s foremost frontrunner of EDM light.
Avicii’s latest “Stay With You” appeared online a few days ago. The track contains raspy vocals brought to you by pop star Mike Posner: sounding like he is trying to whisper a deep dark secret into your ear that no one else must hear. Accompanying the vocals are Avicii’s famed piano riffs and uplifting melodies, but is this too much of the same? The track is undeniably catchy as always but is Avicii killing his artistic credibility for a pursuit global success? Where do you draw the line between creating a unique sound, a signature for yourself, and becoming repetitive?
Some are saying that the track sounds too similar to Sunshine, Avicii’s collaboration with David Guetta, but are fans being hard on Avicii just for the sake of having something to hate on? Maybe Avicii is a guilty pleasure like trashy magazines or soap operas. No one can deny that they have gone full on dance-happy while listening to some of his original productions.
Regardless of what people say, Stay With You will become a hit, but that doesn’t mean you can voice your opinion here! Give the track a listen and sound off below.
