Official Electric Zoo After Party Previews: EDM Insider’s Guide to Raging After Hours

Get enthused, kids. The Electric Zoo set times have been released and the official E-Zoo app has been downloaded hundreds, if not thousands, of times. With the festival’s conclusion at 11:00pm on all three days of the festival (8/31-9/2), EDM Insider has put together a guide to point you in the right direction to your after-hours raging. There are plenty of nighttime opportunities to satisfy your EDM thirst after each day of Electric Zoo. Read below to see where we will be poppin’ champagne and dancing until our feet and legs are numb. Festival sets are relatively short so seeing some of Electric Zoo’s biggest names in a more intimate setting will prove to be quite gratifying, particularly after a sweaty day in the sun.

Full On

Roseland Ballroom – Ferry Corsten, Gabriel & Dresden, Michael Woods – EDM Insider Pick
Hosted by Ferry Corsten, ‘Full On’ is a trance lover’s dream. Hot off the heels of his gigantic WKND full-length album and monumental 250th episode of Corsten’s Countdown, mark my words, Ferry will be a festival favorite. Unfortunately, Corsten overlaps with Super You & Me and Dirty Dutch house genius Laidback Luke. If you need to choose between the two, take LBL during the day and spend your night with our #TranceFamily at Roseland. G&D’s infectious progressive melodies are simply killer; catch them at the fest and at this after party. For all your progressive house junkies, Michael Woods will whet your palette and soothe your soul at all once. Come to ‘Full On’ over the alternative at Best Buy Theater. You will not regret it.

Zeds Dead

Best Buy Theater – Zeds Dead, 12th Planet, Netsky, Mt. Eden
Best Buy Theater will be throwing down some grimy dubstep following a heavily progressive and trance-based first day of Electric Zoo. Zeds Dead has been at the top of the dubstep game for some time now. Armed with brand new single “Crank,” Zeds Dead will tear up the dance floor with their unique sound and tight mixing. 12th Planet and Mt. Eden both bring melodic yet hard-hitting dubstep to the table. Drum & bass prodigy, Netsky will invade the Best Buy Theater with his recent single “Come Alive” combining progressive sounds over a bass-heavy beat; a truly mind bending aural experience.

Schulz

Best Buy Theater – Markus Schulz, KhoMha – EDM Insider Pick
The DJ dubbed as the Unicorn Slayer will return to dominate Gotham at the pinnacle of Electric Zoo, showcasing his Scream album with fellow Coldharbour artist, KhoMha. “Caught” featuring Adina Butar (and its accompany remixes) gave us tingles, “Loops & Tings” with Ferry Corsten has been on heavy iTunes rotation, and “Go!” a collaboration with Dennis Sheperd is simply massive. Expect nothing but greatness this night. Coldharbour Recordings has been on the up and up since its inception in 2005 and Armada has supported this German trance monster for the better part of the new millenium. If there is one 2012 E-Zoo after party to satisfy your rage face, this is fucking it.

Benassi

Roseland Ballroom – Benny Benassi, Bingo Players, Adrian Lux, Peace Treaty
If you want to catch the legendary Benny Benassi in New York, expect the unexpected. He might not drop his highly-popular single, “Satisfaction” but rather an eclectic mix of deep and dark house, which gets our little girl emotions going. Bingo Players have had quite an amazing year so far with singles like “Rattle” and “Don’t Blame the Party,” taking over festival and club sound systems. Plus, they absolutely killed it at EDC Las Vegas. This party is a legitimate opportunity to catch up-and-coming progressive producers, Adrian Lux and Peace Treaty as well, who will be spinning longer sets than during Electric Zoo and debuting some of their freshest tunes.

JOC vs AF

Best Buy Theater – John O’Callaghan vs Aly and Fila, Jaytech, Jochen Miller – EDM Insider Pick
Trance fans, do not miss this. John O’Callaghan, Aly & Fila, and Jochen Miller are making an exclusive appearance at Best Buy Theater. They will not be performing at the festival Labor Day Weekend so this will be NYC’s only opportunity to catch three legendary trance artists together to end off the summer season. Aly & Fila recently broadcasted an EPIC 250th episode of their ‘Future State of Egypt’ podcast and are sure to bring the same amount of trance heat to this event. John O’Callaghan and Jochen Miller’s talents go without saying, but bring euphoric trance and bee’s knees tight mixing like it’s nobody’s business. This party will also feature the gorgeous, progressive beats of Jaytech, hot off of his new album Multiverse. This is also a great opportunity to catch Jaytech, if you favor Marcus Schössow or Brodinski on the first day of Electric Zoo.

Hardwell Zedd

Roseland Ballroom – Hardwell, Zedd, Treasure Fingers
Hardwell and Zedd both have defined their sounds within progressive and electro house to create new and wholly self-standing beats. They easily crush the progressive and electro-house scene and do it under the age of a quarter century. This night the Germans and the Dutch collide to bring EDM fans a competing option to our after party pick above. Hardwell slayed the SiriusXM studios, and Lavo later that night, back in July. Zedd’s “Spectrum” blew up Twitter for a solid month, an EDM Insider favorite for sure. This night is all about house. If you want it and need it, our opinions won’t sway you. Go for it!

With multiple after parties each night, it will be hard to choose your after-festival party. However, with these artists all in New York City next weekend, any after party will be a memorable one.

You can find tickets to all of the above parties on the Electro Zoo website.
