Review: Fedde Le Grand Live at Ultra Music Festival 2012 Day 3

Opening up with his collaborative track with Nicky Romero, we knew Fedde Le Grand was going to get “Freaky” with the Ultra Music Festival crowd. His energetic set at the main stage this year proved yet again why we have so much love for the EDM DJ. Pulsating the beats of hits like Benny Benassi’s House Music early on had set the hard hitting tone for the rest of the set. Dropping his remix of the iconic

Fatboy Slim track Praise You had the crowd singing along, breaking a sweat, and brought the mood to the next level for both those there and watching at home. Throughout his set Fedde also showed some love to Sultan and Ned Shepard’s mashup of Cassius vs Tiesto & Hardwell for I Love Zero 76 that almost broke the speakers of the main stage. Let’s not forget about the major moment of Fedde’s set where he mixed in David Berrie’s remix of Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye and Kimbra. Although remixed and dropped almost as much as Adele’s Rolling in the Deep from last year, this remix was absolutely ridiculous. The overly popular song takes a whole new turn with this remix that is comparable to that of Tiesto’s recent remix of the track, sure to be a fan favorite throughout the rest of 2012.

Overall, Fedde played one of the more memorable sets of Ultra Music Festival, clearly leaving us all wanting more. With Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo NY line ups still left unannounced, as well as the highly anticipated Sensation America; we can only hope that US fans can catch another festival Fedde set before the year’s end.
