EDMinsider 1. How did you get your start as a singer/songwriter? Were you always interested in pursuing electronic dance music?

Adina: I start singing from when I was a little girl, at the beginning being part of some girls bands, because I always been a team girl. I liked working in team and go on tour like a band. That`s why my solo career started only in 2010 when I released my first single in corroboration with an Romanian DJ: “Out of my way” which was the most played song according to Nielsen in spring summer 2010. After 1 year I released “Power of goodbye” the song that drew attention to Markus, and due to which we start working together. After few months come out “Deep Inside”  song in collaboration with Emrah Is a Turkish DJ, with whom I collaborate also on “I love Istanbul” song an start touring Turkey in more the 20 cities. As a song writer in a true way I started from 16 years, at the beginning I start to write the songs for the band I used to be in. After for other bands from Romania. Now I have tens of songs written. One of the most important band I use to write is Directia 5 –the most famous and long life band from Romania.

EDMinsider 2. What difference is there, if any, between your releases as Aimi and your future releases as Adina Butar?

Adina: I always had been a big fan of trance and electronic dance music, so now I am so happy that I can really do what I really want, that`s why it is under my real name Adina Butar – because this is what represents me the most. Aimi it is a little bit more commercial maybe and I find myself also in a kind of role, singing about a fantasy, that maybe I did not really lived. From Adina Butar songs if you will know how to listen you can start to discover my true soul.

EDMinsider 3. Who are some of your biggest influences in the electronic dance music industry as a vocalist? Who are some artists you would be interested in collaborating with in the future?

Adina: I grew up on listening to singers like Justine Suissa, Jan Johnson, Dido, Carrie  Skipper , Anita Kelsey so I always had a connection with Markus`s music. To be honest I always wishes to collaborate with Markus and I believe that dreams comes true, they really are. Mine has. He is a complete artist, and the way he produce complete me. I think I would like to collaborate with Khomha in the early future.

EDMinsider 4. You recently just joined Markus Schulz’s new project, Schulz Music Group, as the first female to sign on. What feelings do you have as you start this new endeavor? How did you get linked up with Markus Schulz and the Coldharbour Records crew?

Adina: I`m so happy and excited about joining SMG. I did not know that they are all such a wonderful team and I was so surprised discovering that between them I`m feeling like home. It is like my place is there, it`s like we know each other for a long time. We think the same, we have the same energy, in this formula I feel like I am able to move the mountains. It is an expression in my country! Everything started when Markus heard and liked my song Power of goodbye. At the beginning we start working together at a single, after that he sent me more arrangements to write music and lyrics on and after we had 3 of them finished I was going to Miami to record the final versions for the album. After one week spent together we already knew that we are a great team and that we have to keep on working together so here we are. It is just the beginning but I have that kind of feeling that together we can change the world.

EDMinsider 5. Your first appearance after signing to SMG was alongside Markus Schulz at the Den Bosch A State of Trance 550 celebration recently. Tell us about the magnitude of that experience and what made the event so special?

Adina: Yes I was alongside Markus Schulz at Den Bosch at State of Trance 550. I was up on the stage near him just few seconds in the end of his set, but it was enough to feel the magic. There were more then 30.000 people, and made it special because all of them were there for his music. All of them were real fans and it is a big difference when you are at an event when all are coming specially for you (Markus Schulz) or when you are performing in a public scene with free entrance.

EDMinsider 6. What can Adina Butar fans expect from you throughout the course of the year? Can you reveal any exclusive information on track releases, touring, etc?

Adina: Little time left till Markus and I we will release our first single together, which will be also the first single extract from his new album. Keep in touch with www.facebook.com/adinabutar and get access to all news and updates for touring and new releases first!
