John Dahlback with Deniz Koyu, Tyler Sherritt – Pacha NYC – 6/30/12

If there’s anyone who was overly excited for this Saturday at Pacha NYC, it’s without a doubt us! The multi talented DJ/Producer, John Dahlback, came back with full force to the decks at Pacha NYC on June 30, 2012! And his arrival couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, especially with the release of his latest collaboration with Dirty South called “I Saw This Before”. Also recently out, the Dirty South remix of his single, Embrace Me went hard early on in his set to bring the energy into full swing. Dropping tracks like the Tommy Trash remix of Dahlback featuring Erik Hassle with One Last Ride and Zedd feat Matthew Koma – Spectrum were stand out moments throughout his set. As it never ceases to disappoint, the drop of Nari & Milani set the dance floor on fire when Dahlback dropped the original mix of the monster Size Records track. I made sure to catch his full 1am-3am time slot, as it completely destroyed from start to finish.

Up next to bat was the BONG master, Deniz Koyu. Dropping some classic mainstream progressive and electro house tracks including his infamous Refune tracks BONG and TUNG that were pulsating throughout the packed out New York crowd with a very warm welcome to the Turkish DJ to the Pacha decks.  Koyu also dropped house music classics such as Insomnia and Fatboy Slim’s Praise You, which made for sing a-longs throughout the dance floor. We love his productions, and his mixing was on point throughout his set. We did however hear a few of the same tracks as Dahlback did earlier in the night, but they were bangers regardless and got just as much of a response from the crowd.

For those of you who party hard, you stayed until the 5:30am start of Tyler Sherritt’s set. Bringing a fresh sound to the event, Tyler spun an impressive progressive trance set including Armin van Burren &  Ana Criado’s Suddenly Summer early on in the set which switched up the vibe of the party in a good way. Also incorporating more electro infused hits, he dropped his new bootleg of Swanky Tunes & R3hab vs. Jerry Rekonius, Sending My Powahbunga. Although I had to dip out around 6:30am, after an eventful day at Governors Island with Tritonal and Dash Berlin, all three acts were an amazing end to our Saturday – as well as a beginning to our Sunday.
