EDM Insider Weekly Roundup 6/16/2012 – 6/22/2012

Noble warriors of all that is good and holy, you might notice that this week is moombatastic. That’s because it is. Now that summer is officially here, it’s time for things to get caliente. Muy caliente. I most definitely have moombahton fever. Do you?

1. Skrillex remixes Birdy Nam Nam.

This genre crossing beautiful electronic music baby needs to be available for high quality download yesterday. This is the worst case of blue balls I’ve ever had. Metaphorically speaking, of course. (Or maybe not you’ll never know!)

2. Sazon Booya tracks premier on Goat&Fire.

On it’s second installment, GOAT&FIRE was broadcast live from Bonaroo and premiered a bunch of tracks from the OWSLA family. The two from Sazon Booya contain hot slices of dynamite, particularly the pounding rhythms of “Wind Up” which features ETC!ETC!. For the full episode click here.

3. Life+Times Presents: “Summer Beats Per Minute”

Jay-Z’s own carefully curated website has graced us with “Summer Beats Per Minute,” a collection of song premiers from some of our favorite artists including  Rusko, Audrey Napoleon, Felix Cartal, Sazon Booya, Autoerotique, Mr. Oizo and Steve Aoki. It’s 45 minutes of heaven.

4. Tittsworth drops a new EP.

It’s called Juicy Jorts and let me tell you these jorts are the juiciest. With a diverse array of sounds influenced by merengue and industrial house, these tracks will instantly have your mouth watering. HELL YEAH, BITCHES IT’S JORTS SEASON.

5. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 gets remixed

With remixes by Busy P, Crookers, Logistics, Jokers of the Scene, Benton and Sazon Booya, Tekken Tag just got a lot more bad ass. Music from and inspired by video games usually kicks major ass, just like Nina and Anna Williams.

6. Skrillex & Nero make magic.

The track is called “Game Over” and is it the raging headbanger you hoped it would be? “Oh yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.”

7. ETC!ETC! remixes Das Racist.

With a perfect blend of pump up and chiller vibes, this track is a must have for any summertime day drinking playlist. The track is available for free download so grab a cocktail and a lounge chair, meet me on the roof top and let’s groove.

8. More free music for likes, Tommy Trash edition.

Tommy Trash posted his new bootleg, “Unite Kids,” as a thank you to his fans for helping him reach 60,000 like on Facebook. The sweet little tune has earned the #1 spot on The Hype Machine Twitter Chart much to Tommy’s amusement.

9. The M Machine remixes Passion Pit

With a more melodic flow most similar to a track like “Faces,” the industrial aura that surrounds the machine lays low in the very background of the track while more playful synths create an 80s like vibe. Free download available via Passion Pit’s website.
