No one has set foot through the doors of New York City’s Marquee Nightclub since it’s close for renovations in 2010. However, in 2013 Jason Strauss and the boys who brought us Marquee Las Vegas, Tao LV & NY and Lavo LV & NY are back for the rebirth of this favorite Chelsea hot spot! And what better way to make a bold statement in the ever-growing and ever-changing nightlife scene of New York than to have an absolute legend in dance music headline for the special grand opening. On Friday, January 18, 2013, we will walk the red carpet, cut the caution tape and walk through the brand new doors of Marquee NY, dancing the GRAND OPENING night away to the delectable sounds of Dubfire!

Dubfire’s musical interest sparked from listening to hip hop, jazz, new wave, punk and experimental during his early days in Washington DC. Looking to expand his musical listenings, Shirazinia often visited the Yesterday & Today Record Shop where Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Nitzer, Ministry, and Adrian Sherwood grabbed his listening attention. Dubfire soon teamed with Deep Dish partner Sharam to become a 4 time Grammy nominated, 2002 Grammy winning EDM duo; the legendary team that provided acclaimed dance classics including De’Lacy “Hideaway (Deep Dish Remix)” and the Grammy Award winning remix to Dido’s “Thank You”, amid a long list of chart topping tracks.

Following their Deep Dish successes, Shirazinia and Sharam’s production styles began shifting in different directions and so the two decided to part ways. Now Shirazinia goes by the name of Dubfire and is labeled as the man who produces “Jet-black polished chrome Techno” [DJ Mag]. He is responsible for the immaculate remixes to Richie Hawtin’s “Spastik”, Radio Slave “Grindhouse”, Meat Katie & D. Ramirez “Stop The Revolution”, as well as mind-blowing originals – “Dios”, ”Roadkill”, “Bird 1″, “RibCage”,  ”Grace”, “Slowburn”, among many others. Dubfire is a pioneer of quality techno and his resume speaks for itself . He has two top 10 tracks in Resident Advisor’s 100 Most Charted Records of 2007, has won DJ Mag’s Player of the Year 2008, and Dubfire has been nominated for countless Beatport and IDMA’s. He kicked off his own record label, Sci+Tec Records [Science+Technology] in 2007, which showcases some  of the industries greatest new and emerging talents. Dubfire is one of the long term dance music legends in EDM and on Friday, January 18, 2013 he reigns over the pioneer decks at New York City’s  highly anticipated revamped hot spot, Marquee NY for what is sure to be a grand opening not to be missed!

Helping DUBFIRE break down the redesigned doors of Marquee NY will be Michael and Begona Basic, known to dance music artisans as Sleepy & Boo.
