Coldharbour Night with KhoMha, Mr. Pit, and Grube & Hovsepian at District 36 NYC – 8/3/12

Coldharbour Recordings is the world-renowned sub-label of Armada Music which has swept the EDM scene like a wild brush fire since 2005. Strategically run by our favorite “Unicorn Slayer”, DJ and producer, Markus Schulz, Coldharbour Recordings has shackled major influential artists including KhoMha, Mr. Pit, Barnes & Heatcliff, Skytech, Grube & Hovsepian, among many others. The famous record label is named after Coldharbour Lane, a road in South London where Markus Schulz’s studio was located. In 2010, Coldharbour celebrated its 100th release by releasing remixed classics from the label itself and in 2012 it began the epic celebration of Coldharbour Night reigning in many US and Canada cities. Markus and his Coldharbour team have invaded Miami during Winter Music Conference week, Los Angeles, Seattle, Montreal, Toronto, and now they land in the city with the bright lights, New York City, for a night of Coldharbour-Trance-Explosion! I don’t doubt that Coldharbour Night will remind East Coasters of what trance music was, is, and should be; the emotion, the depth, the inception and power that drives our favorite uplifting melodic symphonies. The very successful Coldharbour Day, which included all of the artists on the label on a 24 hour stream of Coldharbour infused sets, these serve as a great help to our anticipation for the ‘cold night in August’ ahead.

Colombian born Robert Alzate is better known these days as KhoMha, one of the newest trance creators under the Coldharbour umbrella. With only 18 months of professional experience under his belt, KhoMha has proved time and time again to fans that his sound is hear to stay. At his DJ game since the age of 14 years old, he was named as Coldharbour Recordings’ first Artist of the Year in 2011, and it’s clear that fans all over still agree. Providing us with a perfect mix of hard hitting bass lines and uplifting trance melodies, his remixes for ‘Sinners’ and ‘Hold Your Breath’ His latest monster track, “The Dark Knight” in rotation on Markus’ Global DJ Broadcast as well as on Armin van Buuren’s ASOT radio, and has received full support in sets of major trance DJs around the world. Every week on what has been dubbed as “Trance Thursday”, twitter breaks out into a frenzy with an abundance of fans tweet their fingers off, praising khoMha! He is one of the most anticipated trance acts in New York right now, which is an amazing feat for someone just who is somewhat new to the scene. All of the Coldharbour artists performing bring something unique and whimsical to the DJ decks, which is a surefire for a one of a kind trance experience.

Romania native Mr. Pit is another colossal artist in the Coldharbour family blessing us with such original tracks as “Mosni”, “It Is What It Is”, “River of Hearts” and “Fug”. If you listen to Markus Schulz’s Global DJ Broadcast, you’ve surely heard Mr. Pit’s imagination run wild in the synthesis of a handful of other great trance artists. He only made his U.S. debut in February playing the Sunday night of Markus Schulz’s Los Angeles 2012 release party. We definitely recommend joining the EDM Insider crew tomorrow night as we dance until sunrise with Mr. Pit and his fellow Coldharbour recording artists!

The familiarity of U.S. based EDM artists is relatively unknown. For some reason there is a perception that there are only a handful of them, which is entirely bunk. Grube & Hovsepian proves this observation incorrect. These Coldharbour strong house DJs are an ‘east meets west’ blend of progressive and trontz fully supported by the Unicorn Slayer Markus Schulz and Armada Music. Fan favorites include “City Of Angels”, “Torque” and “Venom (feat.
