BT and Audien Rescheduled Show at LIT Ultrabar, Philadelphia 3/7/2013
One of the pioneers of the trance genre, Brian Wayne Transeau, better known by his stage name, BT, will be making his long awaited debut at LIT Ultrabar this coming Thursday, March 7th. After becoming extremely ill with complications surrounding malaria, this original show which was scheduled for January 10th was postponed to a later date. Now that later date is upon us, we’re all ready for a little Laptop Symphony and all of the surprises that BT has in store for us.
LIT Ultrabar, one of Philadelphia’s hottest new venues to experience house, progressive, dubstep, and trance has been at the top of the Philly EDM scene this past year. Bringing names such as Nicky Romero, Porter Robinson, Krewella, Pierce Fulton among others, its unique layout and sleek design allows its visitors to have the best of both worlds: a packed dance-floor with excellent sound, as well as a full bar and VIP experiences for the 21+ patrons.
“He taught us all how to make trance.” – Armin Van Buuren
BT has gained the hearts of millions of fans throughout the years. The classically trained musician doesn’t necessarily consider himself a DJ, but his trance and pop productions from the early 90’s to the present day are what earned him a Grammy nomination in 2010, and a place in the hearts of trance lovers and non-trance lovers alike. His music has been featured in films such as The Fast And The Furious, and Monster and he has written music for the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Paul Simon and Sting; BT is a composer and his sets are created and composed to perfection. His most recent compilation, Laptop Symphony, takes multiple different styles, from dubstep to trance to progressive and house and puts them all together to literally create a symphony. He is able to play all different sorts of genres, while still keeping true to his own unique style; his mastery of music is shown through his performance and production and he is truly a sight to see on stage. One of my favorite sets, if not my absolute favorite set from Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas this past year was from the man himself and I am so excited to see what he has to bring to the table when he comes to Philadelphia.
Coming along for the ride is up and coming super-star Audien. Hailing from Mystic Connecticut, The versatile DJ/producer has graced us with tracks like “These Are The Days”, “Wayfarer” and his newest club hit “Sup”. Watching Audien rise from nothing into something for the past 3 years has been nothing short of incredible. He is consistently releasing both beautiful, emotional trance as well as funky progressive house. With support from Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren and Hardwell, there are big things ahead for Audien and theres no doubt about that. I’m interested to see what Audien will bring to LIT this coming Thursday since he set the bar pretty high last time I had the pleasure to see him at Santos Party House for their Electric Beach series where he absolutely blew everyone away.
If you had purchased tickets for the January 10th show, your tickets are still valid for this event. Purchase tickets here and I hope to see you all there!
